BTEC Creative Digital Media: Unit 4

This is a rough sketch story board of what i plan to be the opening scene to my movie. This was one of my first ideas and it may change - but thats okay because its good to develop on my ideas and to show my progress. This is relevant to my pre-production process as i'm developing on my ideas and seeing what works and what doesn't work.

  I made this swot analysis so I could decide what genre of movie i want my movie to be. i have decided to do horror/thriller because it doesn't require as much skill and is easier to do and i personally love horror movies. it is important to develop my ideas on what genre of movie i want to do and identify the different strengths and weaknesses so i can decide which genre is best for me.  This is relevant to my pre-productuion process as i need to look at all the pros and cons of different genres and take into account whats best for me as a beginner film maker and what genres attract the best audiences.  

I have made this mind map of all my ideas so i can develop a story line for my movie, what it going to be about, what genre it fits into and i can think up some idea of a budget, what props i will need and locations i can use. its important to explore my ideas so I can decide what is going to be the easiest movie for me to make. This is VITAL to the pre-production process as to make a movie - i first need an initial idea and then i need to expand on that idea. 

Why did i make my action plan? i made my action plan so i could organise my pre production for my movie effectively and efficiently so i have the best outcome for my course work. so i could do everything in order and nothing gets missed out. why is it important that i make an action plan? if anything is missed out it could effect the results of my movie and may not be made as efficiently as it could be The process i went through to create this was look at an image of a mind map and other people's blogs who have made a movie so i looked at all the tasks we had to complete in order to make the movie, put them in order and made sure i had all the relevant ones that i needed for the preproduction of my movie on my action plan. i predict the outcome of my production will be positive due to my action plan as it would have made it more effective as everything would have been organised.
